Your watchlist is huge. Your evening isn’t. Find out what you can actually stream tonight.
Since 2019 Runs on Chromium · Firefox License MIT Chrome Web Store Firefox Add-ons Source on GitHub If you use Letterboxd, you probably know the problem: a watchlist full of films you really want to see, and no idea which of them are on the streaming service you’re paying for. Checking them one by one gets old fast.
So I built a small browser extension for it back in 2019, and I’ve been looking after it ever since. You tell it where you live and which streaming service you have, and it fades out every film you can’t stream there. What’s left is your shortlist for tonight.
What it does # See it at a glance Films that aren’t on your streaming service fade into the background. The ones you can watch right now stand out. Works where you are Every country JustWatch covers is supported. That’s more than 130 at the moment. Not just your watchlist It works on watchlists, lists, liked films and the film browsing pages, yours or anyone else’s. Free and open source No account, no ads. The code is MIT-licensed and lives on GitHub. How it works # Pick your country and service Click the extension icon, choose your country and your streaming service, and switch the filter on. Open any list on Letterboxd The extension collects the films on the page you’re looking at. It checks what's streaming For each film it asks TMDB where it’s available. That data comes from JustWatch. Everything else fades out Films that aren’t on your service get dimmed. Switch the filter off and everything goes back to normal. The popup: one switch, two dropdowns. Honestly? I liked the old one better.
The good news: the old “Vector” skin is still there, you just have to ask for it on every single page. Old Wiki does exactly that for you, on every Wikipedia language and on the other Wikimedia sites too.
What it does # Set it and forget it Install it and every Wikipedia page opens in the classic layout. No account and no per-site settings. Every language English, German, Japanese, whatever you read: all language versions are covered. The whole Wikimedia family Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikivoyage, Commons, Wikidata and more get the classic look as well. Clean address bar The trick behind it stays hidden from your address bar, so links you copy look normal. How it works # It’s a simple trick. MediaWiki, the software behind Wikipedia, still ships the old skin. You just have to ask for it in the URL:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_fox en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_fox?useskin=vector You open a Wikimedia page Just like always, from a search, a bookmark or a link. Old Wiki adds the magic bit The request gets ?useskin=vector added before it even reaches Wikipedia. Wikipedia serves the classic look And if you want, the extension keeps the address bar clean, too. Three switches: the classic skin itself, reloading your open Wikipedia tabs right away when you flip it, and keeping the extra bit out of your address bar.
